Sadly, The Body Of Missing Chilliwack Senior With Alzheimer’s – John Pop, Has Been Found

Chilliwack – It started with a social media plea for someone’s Dad who went missing. That was 4PM Tuesday. On Wednesday, it’s a full blown search with a Facebook page.

On Saturday, the word that no one wanted to hear.

Monica Wickham posted that her Dad, John Ioan Pop, who has severe Alzheimer’s went missing in the Teskey Drive area.

He’s wearing a navy track suit with white stripe and a light brown pullover.
He went missing from his house on Teskey Road ( between Bridlewood and Tournier ). He’s 5’6 and he’s 79 yrs old.

Mr. Pop did not speak English, and has difficulty with his native Romanian due to medical issues.

Chilliwack Search and Rescue had set up a command centre in Promontory.

On Saturday, the body of the 79 year old was found off Bridalwood Trail, near Chilliwack Lake Road.

Lisa Johannes Bisschop posted on the Facebook page – Missing – John Pop:

It is with a heavy heart that I let you all know that John has been found. He has passed away. If you can please keep the entire family & friends in your prayers and thoughts. Please respect the family and give them their privacy at this time ❤

Words from Monica:I cannot respond to any messages or posts now. I’m numb. I would like to thank the entire community how helpful and caring they were.

Thank-you to everyone who helped searched for John.
