UPDATE – Grand Re-Opening Of Abbotsford’s Jubilee Park – Friday June 7

Abbotsford – The wet Friday weather didn’t damper the excitement of the grand re-opening of Jubilee Park Jubilee Park in Abbotsford.

The $2.7M project includes a six metre berm just north of the playground to provide a natural amphitheatre that faces the old Centennial Library. More parking is now available and a sidewalk cuts through the site. It connects to the park’s entrance opposite Switzer Avenue and Pauline Street.

Construction to upgrade Jubilee Park started in April of 2018. The result of this was the re-location of the lawn bowling club to Mill Lake Park.

Thanks to Abbotsford Councilor Dave Loewen for the photos of the refurbished area. He posted to Facebook: Jubilee Park has had a remarkable ‘makeover’, which will breathe new life into this centrally-located green space in the Historic Downtown Abbotsford. Cool weather may have kept some from attending, but an enthusiastic group of residents came out to enjoy a little bit of party time. On hand to help the City with the Grand Re-Opening were MP Sidhu, MLA/Speaker Darryl Plecas, Mayor Braun, Gerry Palmer (ADBA President), and Pastor Klassen (Central Heights Church).
