Abbotsford Councillor Bruce Banman Seeking BC Liberal Nod For Fall Election To Replace Darryl Plecas

Abbotsford – Abbotsford Councillor Bruce Banman has announced his candidacy for MLA in Abbotsford South. He will be seeking the nomination for the BC Liberal Party. After much encouragement from his friends, family, and the Abbotsford community, Mr. Banman has decided to put his name forward.

Speaker of the House , the controversial Darryl Plecas is the current MLA for Abbotsford South. He was kicked out of the Liberal caucus when he accepted the NDP invite to become Speaker. He now sits as an independent.

From his media release: Banman has been a resident of Abbotsford since 1982, and first entered politics in 2011 out of a desire to better serve his community. He was Abbotsford Mayor from 2011 – 2014. One of his key accomplishments was the Mayor’s Task Force on Homelessness; Abbotsford Homeless Action Plan.
