Abbotsford Hosting 2019 BC Mixed Doubles Curling Championship – February 26 – March 3

Abbotsford – A number of BC curling stars and up-and-coming athletes will be arriving in Abbotsford next week for the 2019 BC Mixed Doubles Curling Championship.

Sixteen teams will be competing for a chance to represent BC at the 2019 Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Championship, which is taking place in Fredericton, New Brunswick from March 19 to 24.

BC curlers Tyler Tardi and Dezaray Hawes will also be competing in the Canadian Championship, having qualified for the competition earlier this season through a Curling Canada NextGen event.

“The Abbotsford Curling Club is excited to be hosting this prestigious event and to have such talented curlers on our ice,” said Abbotsford Curling Club manager Kent Bird. “We’d like to encourage community members to come out to support this event that showcases our popular club and sport.”

Athletes will be officially welcomed to the event on Tuesday February 26 with the opening banquet. Competition starts on Wednesday February 27, with the first draw taking place at 4:00pm PT.

The final will take place on Sunday March 3, with the timing to be determined based on the number of tiebreaker games required after round robin play.

The complete list of teams that will be competing in the event can be found here.

The competition is free to attend. Live scores, schedules, rosters and standings from the 2019 BC Mixed Doubles Curling Championship are available at playdowns.curlbc.ca.
