UPDATE – Charges Laid Against Transit Sniper Daon Glasgow – Scott Road Skytrain Shooting

Surrey/Burnaby/Delta/Vancouver/Fraser Valley – UPDATE – FEBRUARY 12 – Surrey RCMP advises that charges have now been laid in the shooting of a Metro Vancouver Transit Police officer at the Scott Road SkyTrain Station on January 30th.

35 year old Daon Gordon Glasgow of Vancouver, has been charged with;

§  Attempt murder using a restricted or prohibited firearm

§  Discharging a restricted or prohibited firearm with the intent to endanger life

§  Intentionally discharging a firearm while being reckless to the life and safety of other persons

§  Unlawful possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm

UPDATE – FEBRUARY 3 – Surrey RCMP confirm that Daon Glasgow was arrested around 5:30 AM Sunday morning.

Update: Daon Glasgow has been arrested without incident in Burnaby. Thank you to all our policing partners who have assisted with the investigation. We appreciate all the assistance from the public who shared the information and called in with tips .

Surrey Mayor Doug McCallum issued the statement:
“I want to thank the men and women of Surrey RCMP and commend the work they have done in bringing the Scott Road SkyTrain Station shooting suspect into custody. Their dedication, expertise and relentless work are a testament to the successful outcome achieved this morning. I also would like to extend my thanks to all the law enforcement agencies that assisted in today’s arrest.”

FEBRUARY 1 -It has been a tense time since a transit officer was shot in the arms at the Scott Road Skytrain station On Wednesday night. The officer will pull through.

35-year-old Daon Glasgow is known to police and considered violent.

There is a Canada-wide warrant out for the arrest of Glasgow, and his history includes the killing of a man in Surrey, for which he pleaded guilty to manslaughter.

Investigators believe Glasgow may try to leave the province in an attempt to evade police. Surrey RCMP has notified other jurisdictions and asked them to be on the lookout for Glasgow. While unrelated to this investigation, Glasgow is also currently wanted on a Canada Wide Warrant for being Unlawfully at Large with respect to violating his statutory release.

Glasgow is 5’5″ tall and 170 lbs with dark skin and brown eyes. At the time of the shooting, he had black stubble and a moustache. RCMP say he is known to quickly change his appearance.

He was last seen wearing a blue hoodie and white Nike runners.

He has been known to use the aliases Darrel James Davis and Cornell Gibson.
