Chilliwack – The Chilliwack Alano Club’s Kids Christmas Party was held Saturday afternoon at the club, off the corner of Victoria and Nowell. Some 50 children with Mom’s and Dad’s in tow, enjoyed colouring, food and of course, a visit from Santa himself.
Every child received a toy as well as a book, courtesy of the Book Man and a stuffie courtesy of West Coast Amusements.
Additional thanks to Chilliwack MLA John Martin for a visit and all the Alano volunteers.
The Club continues to deal with financial challenges that all non-profits face every day, not just during the holiday season.
MLA Martin received a quick update on the continued needs of the society including plumbing, roofing and electrical issues at the building which is close to 50 years old. The building was originally a home that was gifted to the society in 1982. The Alano Society itself has roots in the community that go back to the 1950’s.
