Chilliwack – Two term city councillor Jason Lum announced he will seek a third term of office.
Lum’s second term saw him continue to take an active role on several Committees, including Transportation, Public Safety, and the Chilliwack Creative
Commission. He also completed his term on the Executive of the Lower Mainland Local Government Association, after being elected President by his peers in Local Governments across the region.
Lum was also elected Board Chair of the Fraser Valley Regional District, and was most recently appointed to the Fraser Basin Leadership Committee on Regional Flood Management.
Prior to his election to public office, Lum was the youngest elected president of the Chilliwack Chamber of Commerce, and a board member on a number of local charitable and non-profit organizations. Lum is also a small business owner, and a member of the Mount Cheam Rotary Club, with deep roots in the community.
Lum was chosen as one of UFV’s “Top 40,” which recognizes 40 outstanding alumni whose ideas, passion, leadership and achievements have helped shape UFV and the communities they serve.
I am excited to put my name forward again for your consideration as a City Councillor. I look forward to bringing the experience, leadership, and skills I have gained over the past seven years to serve the community for another term. This election will bring significant change to the Council table. I believe it is critical that we elect a Council willing to embrace new ideas while still maintaining our vibrant local economy, protecting our amazing natural environment, and continuing to build world-class amenities.Election Day is coming up on October 20th, and I would like to respectfully ask for your vote.
