Abbotsford Chamber To Host Election Referendum Forum – September 18 At UFV

Abbotsford- British Columbia is having a referendum on what voting system we should use for provincial elections. The referendum is being held by mail from October 22 to November 30.
Registered voters will get a voting package in the mail from Elections BC between October 22 and November 2.
Voters will be asked two questions on the referendum ballot.
The first question asks if we should keep the current First Past the Post voting system or move to a system of proportional representation.
The second question asks voters to rank three proportional systems: Dual Member Proportional (DMP), Mixed Member Proportional (MMP), and Rural-Urban Proportional(RUP).
To better inform Abbotsford voters regarding the upcoming Election Referendum, the Abbotsford Chamber will be hosting an information forum on Tuesday  September 18 – 7PM  in Lecture Theatre (B101) at the University of the Fraser Valley.
The evening will feature a panel discussion moderated by Professor Hamish Telford with speakers from both the official representatives,VotePRBC and NoBCProRep.

This public forum is a free event.
