Chilliwack – Chilliwack Fire crews quickly doused what could have easily turned into a major wildfire on Thursday evening.
This was along Chilliwack Lake Road past the fishing lodge.
There are reports that someone carelessly tossed a cigarette into the brush.
Ian Josephson from Chilliwack Fire told FVN: Chilliwack River Valley Fire Department and BC Wildfire Service responded with a helicopter. Chilliwack Fire Department crews have responded in support of CRVFD. Still assessing the size of the damage.
Kody Jukes posted the video to Facebook and was re-posted by the page Wacky Chilliwack: Fire down Chilliwack Lake Road just past the fishing lodge caused by some idiots who decided to toss out a cigarette but. This is the reason our province is getting torched by the second, dumbass irresponsible people.
Took the video after the fire department was called, they showed up within 5 minutes and put the fire out.
Once again a reminder of how tinder dry everything is.
