Fraser Valley – Due to ongoing high temperatures and dry conditions, the FVRD has closed Sumas Mountain Regional Park until further notice. Sumas Mountain Regional Park is a 1,471 hectare park located partly in the City of Abbotsford and partly in the FVRD’s Electoral Area G.
Meanwhile, Due to recent growth and change in the behavior of a 100 hectare forest wildfire burning close to Sasquatch Provincial Park (High Creek Fire above Highway 7), it has been closed under BC Parks regional director’s order. Campers and other park visitors have been vacated at the direction of park staff. This park will remain closed until further notice.
