Abbotsford – The annual Abbotsford AirShow runs August 9 to 12. Traffic jams along Highway One as well as Peardonville and Mt Lehman Roads are the norm, with an average of 125,000 showing up every day. That usually means 300,000 by the end of the show.
NOTE that Abbotsford International Airport YXX WILL BE CLOSED DURING THE SHOW.
Parking is always a challenge as well.

For ease of access during the Airshow, please approach the YXX Terminal from the North via Mt Lehman Rd.
Mt Lehman Rd. will be temporarily closed at from Approach Dr. to Huntington Rd. during the following times for Blue Angels performances.
- Thursday, August 9: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
- Friday, August 10: 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
- Saturday, August 11: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
- Sunday, August 12: 2:00 pm – 3:00 pm
During these times, the YXX terminal will also be closed. A temporary holding lot and hospitality tent will be setup at Mt. Lehman Rd & Approach Dr. (beside the Abbotsford Flying Club) for YXX travelers. Travelers will be allowed to proceed to the terminal to check-in for their flight as soon as the Blue Angels performance ends.
Event Closures & Detours
Airshow event road closures and detours will be in effect during the following hours:
- Thursday, August 9: 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- Friday, August 10: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm
- Saturday, August 11: 11:30 am – 4:30 pm
- Sunday, August 12: 11:30 am – 4:30 pm
Tracey St. will be closed between King Rd. & Walmsley Rd.
Walmsley Ave. will be closed between Tracey St. & Clearbrook Rd.
Huntington Rd. will be closed between Mt. Lehman Rd. & Townline Rd.
- Westbound detour follows Townline Rd. South to 0 Ave West and Mt. Lehman Rd. North
- Eastbound detour follows Mt. Lehman Rd. South to 0 Ave East and Townline Rd. North
Temporary Extended Huntington Rd. Closure
The Huntington Rd. closure noted above will be extended between Ross Rd. & Townline Rd. during Blue Angels performances.
- Westbound detour follows Townline Rd. South to 0 Ave West and Ross Rd. North
- Eastbound detour follows Ross Rd. South to 0 Ave East and Townline Rd. North
This temporary extended closure will be in effect during the following hours:
