RCMP Captured Walkaway Inmate Michael Lund

Pitt Meadows –JUNE 26 UPDATE – Michael Lund, who had walked away from the off-site work detail, was an inmate from the FRCC Fraser Regional Correctional Centre. According to Ridge Meadows RCMP, Lund has been captured in downtown Vancouver.

On, Friday June 22, at around 7:30 pm, Vancouver Police members observed a man riding a bike without a helmet. He was subsequently identified as the wanted man who walked away from a FRCC off-site work assignment in Pitt Meadows, B.C., on June 13, 2018.
The man was arrested without incident and remains in custody. Thank you to everyone who shared the original release.
JUNE 13 ORIGINAL STORY – Police need your help in locating an inmate from the Fraser Regional Correctional Centre who walked away from an off-site work detail.
On Wednesday (June 13, @11AM), Ridge Meadows RCMP received a call from Fraser Regional Correctional Centre (FRCC) reporting that inmate, Michael Lund, had walked away from the off-site work detail. He was last seen in the area of South Gate Road and Airport Way. The RCMP are now working with BC Corrections to locate the inmate.
He is described as:
Medium build
6’2”, 190 lbs
Short brown hair, brown eyes, and facial stubble.
At the time he left the work crew, the inmate was wearing correctional attire consisting of a red shirt, red pants and red jacket. He is serving a 12-month sentence for property related crimes.
Schools in the area were notified as a precautionary measure but no school lock downs were initiated.
