Hope – An update from Coastal Fire Centre and BC Wildfire.
On Sunday evening the Coastal Fire Centre responded to a fire approximately 20 hectares in size.
The fire was burning 25 kilometers southeast of Hope above the Silver Skaggit Road in a very remote area.
This fire does not pose a threat to any structures and no values are at risk aside from timber.
Airtankers and 2 Helicopters actioned the fire to support 10 firefighters in their suppression efforts.
The crews are working in very steep rugged terrain and will work until dusk and return Monday morning with additional personnel.
This fire is expected to receive rain over night and the cause is under investigation.
