Chilliwack Healthier Community – First Nations Historical Impacts Training Series Starts February 15

Chilliwack – CHC Chilliwack Healthier Community are again offering the highly anticipated First Nations Historical Impact Training Series, developed by Sto:lo Service Agency.

Two sets of this five-part series are being offered this Spring. Here is an info sheet you can print, and these are the dates.

All sessions will take place at Stó:lō Nation, 7201 Vedder Road, Chilliwack:
Set 1 – Time: 1-4pm
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early
Feb 15 “Historical Impacts” – Kelowa Edel
Feb 22 “Understanding Trauma” – Allyson Cushing
Mar 1 “Exploring the Significance of Attachment” – Allyson Cushing
Mar 22 “Cultural Protocols and Opening Doors” – Samantha Kaji
Mar 29 “Cultural Teachings” – Gwen Point

Set 2 – Time: 1-4pm
Please arrive at least 15 minutes early
Apr 26 “Cultural Teachings” – Gwen Point
May 3 “Historical Impacts” – Kelowa Edel
May 17 “Understanding Trauma” – Allyson Cushing
May 24 “Exploring the Significance of Attachment” – Allyson Cushing
May 31 “Cultural Protocols and Opening Doors” – Samantha Kaji

In order to help CHC to continue to be able to offer this training to our community, they ask that you or your organization contribute $250 for your seat, if possible.

They are more than half full for these sessions already, so if you want to register, please email (coordinator@chilliwackhealthiercommunity.ca). Seats will be assigned according to the time stamp of you email, “first come, first served”. For those that have date conflicts, or do not get a seat this time, please be aware that CHC are planning to repeat these sessions in the spring, and there is a wait list for those sessions.
