Chilliwack School Board Enforcing Fire Regulations At Board Meetings- Limit Seating

Chilliwack – Over the past few months as the Barry Neufeld fueled anti-SOGI debate has caused disruptions and protests before, during and after school board meetings, the board has taken action.

On Tuesday morning, hours before the latest board meeting, the school board posted a warning on social media.

They will enforce fire regulations and limit the number of people within the public gallery and will have security enforce the clearing of the lobby.

This did not address any form of protest that may take place in the parking lot or outside on the grounds of the School Board building.

No new protests are planned for Tuesday evening at this time.

The School Board posting:

School District Office Lobby Closed For Regular Public Board Meetings

Please note that, due to security and safety challenges, in addition to Fire Regulations, members of the public will not be allowed in the School District Office Lobby before, during or after the Regular Public Board Meetings. Members of the public are welcome in the Board Meeting room during the meetings, up to the capacity of available seating only – no standing room. Members of the public are also invited to watch the live streamed meetings on their computers and smart phones.
