Fraser Valley – Three weeks and a lot of dry mouths later, the 370 production workers at the Coke Cola production plants in Chilliwack, Richmond, Coquitlam and the Sunshine Coast , is over.
After intense negotiations with the B.C. Labour Relations Board, followed by meetings with mediator Vince Ready, workers are scheduled to go back to work by Monday.
At issue was proposed changes to pensions and other benefits .
The strike started July 24.
Coca-Cola Canada and the union had been in negotiations over the contract since March.
Some food chains including Safeway and Superstore posted signs as to why their supplies of Coke product had dried up.
