Homicide At Chilliwack Kal Tire – UPDATE- Victim Known To Police VIDEO

Chilliwack -JULY 25 UPDATE – FVN has learned why IHIT took control of this case and immediately called this a targeted homicide. 33 year old Yee Hung Chin recently moved to Chilliwack from Calgary. Both RCMP and Calgary Police know of him. In 2012, Chin was sentenced to seven years in prison for possessing a loaded handgun. He allegedly had ties to an Alberta gang called FOB. FOB are considered one of the more infamous gangs in the Calgary area.

IHIT released a timeline including a suspected van used in the shooting.

1 PM JULY 21 UPDATE – IHIT has taken control of this case. On their Twitter page they state that one male is dead and they believe this was a targeted shooting. Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the IHIT tipline at 1.877.551.IHIT (4448) or Crime Stoppers at 1.800.222.TIPS (8477.)

Just after 9 AM Police and Ambulance were called to the Progress Way Kal Tire retread plant for a male with gunshot woulds. He died in hospital.

So far there are no suspects in custody.

JULY 21 ORIGINAL STORY – RCMP have responded to an early morning incident at the Kal Tire on Progress Way at Lickman Road in Chilliwack. RCMP are not commenting on what happened. Three bullet holes can be seen in a vehicle parked in the lot at the retread plant. A near by vehicle fire off the Vedder Canal was reported by Drive BC soon after. No word if the two incidents are related.
