Chilliwack RCMP Nab Auto Thief

Chilliwack:  An investigation by RCMP officers led to the arrest of a Chilliwack man and the recovery of a stolen vehicle and property.

The investigation was initiated on June 20, 2017 when a Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) officer observed a suspicious van travelling on Lickman Road.  The officer located the van parked in the Park N’ Ride on Yale Road where he saw an SUV leaving the lot. Further queries determined the SUV had been stolen.

Evidence gathered by police connected the alleged theft to an address in the 42000–block of Keith Wilson Road and led them to the abandoned SUV.

Later that afternoon, the suspect was taken into custody by police when he returned to the Park N’ Ride lot.

A search warrant was executed at the Keith Wilson address where officers seized further property. Three people arrested by police during the search were released from custody at the scene.

Justin Norman Larsen, 33, remains in custody facing charges of Possession of Stolen Auto and Possession of Stolen Property.  Larsen is scheduled to appear in court in late July.
