IHIT ID’s Homicide Victim Found On A Hope Forest Service Road

Hope -APRIL 21 UPDATE -IHIT has identified a 20-year-old from Prince George as the deceased male found on a forest service road near Hope.

The male victim was identified as Michael Walter Bonin of Prince George.

IHIT reports the homicide appears to be targeted.

IHIT investigators are working closing with the UFVRD, the Integrated Forensic Identification Section, and the BC Coroner’s Service on the case. From the evidence gathered so far, an IHIT spokesperson reports the homicide appears to be targeted, but it is unknown if the location where Bonin’s body was located was where the murder occurred.

ORIGINAL STORY APRIL 20 – On Thursday Morning (April 20, 2017 at 7:30 AM) Hope RCMP supported by Chilliwack RCMP Serious Crime Section officers responded to a report of a body found on a rural Forest Service road in the Hope region.  Upon attendance the body of a deceased individual was located by police. 

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called and will be working in partnership with the UFVRD RCMP.
