Chilliwack – The new Vedder Bridge is now in place. Next up is setting up the roundabout on the North end and the support electrical installation and the re-deux of the dog park.
The City of Chilliwack has posted a time lapse video of the installation:
Hundreds from the community came out on April 11, 2017 to witness the historic event of the new bridge being launched across the River. The move took more than 7 hours to reach to south pier and has been summarized in the video produced by InMist Media House below. The bridge launch continues through today to the south abutment. Bridge and roundabout construction will continue off-line of traffic into the summer with traffic being transferred to the new bridge in August. Single-lane closures along Vedder Mtn Road will continue into May during curb and sidewalk construction.
