Abby Police – Fake Assault Rifle And Lucky Teens – It Could Have Been Worse

Abbotsford – Stories like these are now the norm. Fake replica guns, a police presence and everyone is lucky that shots were not fired.

That was the case Tuesday night (9PM) in Abbotsford as APD responded to a call of someone with an assault rifle near a church in the 3300 block of Mt. Lehman Road.\

“As you can imagine, that generated an overwhelming response from our patrol division” – APD Constable Ian MacDonald.

APD discovered three teens between the ages of 15 and 18 carrying what looked to be guns. They were replicas. Two handguns, and what looked like a police-issued rifle.

All three were airsoft guns.

Needless to say, the teens and their parents received a rather strained warning from Police.

Again, fortunately APD showed great restraint as this could have turned tragic.
