Fraser Valley – You’ll have noticed that on New Year’s Eve, gas prices throughout the Valley jumped to $1.22 a litre.
Hopefully that wont last long (insert gouging comments here).
Dan Mcteague with Gasbuddy.com says it’s all thanks to a problem that doesn’t really exist or at least one that he and other insiders didn’t see coming.
It’s all based on speculation that American refineries on the West Coast won’t be able to meet demand.
The Lower Mainland and the Fraser Valley receive their gas shipments from those refineries.
Mcteague is fairly confident that these prices will carry into the first two weeks of January followed by a correction as the speculation is debunked.
