Countdown Starts To RBC Cup 2018

Chilliwack – The Host Committee for the 2018 RBC Cup in Chilliwack unveiled its new event logo and motto, Lets’emót.

Featuring the traditional blue and gold branding of the Royal Bank as used in previous RBC Cup championships, Hockey Canada provided the logo to the Host Committee with Chilliwack proudly displayed below it. Downtown Chilliwack BIA executive director Kyle Williams and local First Nations artist Bonnie Graham-Krulicki worked to include the motto for the Chilliwack 2018 event in a beautiful script font that would represent the partnerships being formed through the event.

“Lets’emót is a traditional Halq’eméylem word that means ‘to be of one mind,’” explained Squiala Chief David Jimmie, President of the Ts’elxweyeqw Tribe and Stó:lō Nation. “In this case it represents the coming together of the First Nations community, business community, City of Chilliwack, tourism partners, and others to produce an outstanding sports and cultural event.”

Chilliwack residents will soon see the event branding in storefronts, on tee-shirts and elsewhere as the hype begins to build in the community. Information for ticket sales, volunteer and sponsorship opportunities will be available soon.

The community of Chilliwack will host the RBC Cup National Junior A Championship, May 12-20, 2018.
