Chilliwack Fire – Harrison Street

Chilliwack – Just after midnight Saturday August 27, 35 firefighters from Chilliwack Firehalls 1, 2, 4 and 6 responded to a structure fire in the 9800 block of Harrison Street.

When firefighters arrived they found a fully involved detached garage and the fire extending into a single storey house.

Firefighters managed to control the fire but there was extensive damage to the house and exposure damage to an adjacent home.

No one was hurt.

Four adults and a 7 month old baby were home at the time of the fire and they managed to safely evacuate.

Emergency Social Services (ESS) responded to the scene and provided accommodation for the family.

Cause of the fire is still under investigation and is considered accidental.
