Last September, Kevin Hull, the president and CEO of Emergent Waste Solutions, met with Merritt city council, the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) and five local First Nations bands to discuss his plan to operate a processing plant in Merritt.

The plant would use new technology called Advanced Pyrolysis System (APS).

The proposed stakeholders in the project have not come to any solid agreement and Hope has expressed interest.

Hull has gone on record that he is very interested in what Hope has to offer.
