Chilliwack – Chilliwack Restorative Justice & Youth Advocacy Association will be hosting their Spring Bike Auction at Bernard Elementary School on Saturday May 14, 2016. Up to 100 recovered bikes have been donated to the organization by the City of Chilliwack. We will have a wide variety of bikes available; some are high end and in good shape while others need a little TLC. The bike preview begins at 9am with the auction at 10am. We are now able to accept credit card transactions as well as cash.
Program Director Leanna Kemp commented “It is great to see so many people from the community come out and support our bike auction”. For those not looking for a bike, the organization asks that you support the fundraiser by bringing your refundable beverage containers down for our Bottle Drive or purchase an original piece of art from our Art Wall. All artwork was produced by local art students and can be purchased by making a donation in support of our program.
Proceeds from the auction will support all programs offered by Chilliwack Restorative Justice & Youth Advocacy Association. The organization recently launched two new prevention programs in partnership with School District 33 and all funds received will help grow and develop these programs. The new programs are R.E.A.C.H. – an alternative to suspension and Talking Circles – dialogue and activities around underlying issues relating to crime and conflict.
