Abby Chop Shop Busted

Abbotsford – On Monday March 19, 2016, the Abbotsford Police Department received a complaint of a 2007 Ford F550 stolen from a barn located in the 33000 block of Townshipline Rd. The $40,000 truck and $50,000 worth of tools were stolen overnight.

On March 21, 2016 the Abbotsford Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit, Patrol Division,  IMPACT [Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team] and ICBC Special Investigations Unit executed a search warrant at a property in the 4000 block of Tolmie Road, where a “chop shop” operation was located.  The stolen truck chassis was recovered, and parts belonging to several dismantled vehicles were located.  The tools stolen from the F550 were also recovered.  The estimated total value of the police seizure from this operation was over $100,000 in vehicles, parts and tools.

The investigation continues with the Abbotsford Police Department Crime Reduction Unit, IMPACT and the ICBC Special Investigation Unit and charges are anticipated. Abbotsford
