Car Chase – Coquitlam To Abbotsford (Video)

Abbotsford/Coquitlam (KAM Productions/Kevin MacDonald/CP/CKNW) -UPDATE – Two people are in custody after a dramatic police pursuit early this morning that began in Coquitlam and ended in Abbotsford.

Coquitlam Mounties say it began with a reports of suspicous activity in the 2900-block of Silver Springs Boulevard.

One responding police cruiser was damaged as an SUV sped away east on Highway 1.

The RCMP helicopter then picked up the pursuit, and saw the vehicle drive into Surrey where another police car was rammed.

It kept heading east, but the incident ended shortly before 12:30am in Abbotsford, where the SUV ran over a police spike belt and crashed into a ditch on Mt. Lehman Road.

Two suspects fled on foot but police dogs tracked down one to a yard and found another hiding in a tree.

No police officers were hurt.

RCMP say at no time were police chasing the vehicle on the ground because they could monitor it from the sky.

ORIGINAL STORY – Just after 12:30AM Thursday Morning March 17,  police from various jurisdiction’s chased a car from Coquitlam to Abbotsford.

The car was located on Mt Lehman Road in the “S” curves near Abbotsford airport.

Two people fled but were tracked and caught by the dog.

According to unconfirmed reports, several Coquitlam police cars were rammed in Coquitlam.
