Abbotsford (With files from News1130) – Remember when copper wire theft was king?
Copper wire isn’t worth as much as it used to be and while theft in the Lower Mainland is way down, those looking for something to steal have turned their attention towards something more valuable.
Constable Ian MacDonald says there has been a sharp spike in the disappearance of catalytic converters and RV batteries, particularly in Abbotsford.
“Part of the reason that we see this predominantly during the colder months is because RV’s are parked adjacent to homes or they are parked and they are not moved or parked and not inspected on a regular basis.”
