Nylons Farewell Tour At River Rock April 9, 2016

Richmond, BC – After over 35 years of circling the globe, legendary Canadian a capella group The Nylons have decided to close the touring chapter of their illustrious career and will be embarking on a Farewell Tour to say goodbye to their dedicated fans. The tour will include a date at the River Rock Casino Resort on Saturday, April 9, 2015.

It was in 1978 when The Nylons were founded in Toronto where they soon began playing in small clubs before catching the attention of Attic Records. They went on to release seven gold and platinum albums which spawned a string of hit covers including The Tokens’ “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”, The Turtles’ “Happy Together” and Steam’s “Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye”.

The group’s most recent album, Skin Tight was released in 2011 and featured such jazz covers as Etta James’ “Seven Day Fool”, Stevie Wonder’s “All In Love Is Fair” and The Spinners’ “They Just Can’t Stop It (Games People Play)”. The album earned a Juno nomination for “Best Jazz Vocal Album”.

The Nylons’ Farewell Tour will include dates in both Canada and the US. “These shows will be an expression of our gratitude … to both the music and our fans,” said Claude Morrison, original group member. “Although we are coming off the road, the group is not disbanding and we will continue to work on special music projects.”

Tickets go on sale on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at 10:00 am and are $24.50 (plus service charges).
