Fraser Valley – 8:20 AM – There are a few closures remaining after the storm passed through. Insult to injury, an early morning roll over on the Vedder Bridge.
There are still some 500+ customers in Chilliwack and Hope without power in various dark pockets.
The sound of chain saws and wood chippers will fill the air.
Highway 1 at Hope has reopened in both directions, all buses are running and schools are open in the Fraser Cascade School District.
Columbia Valley Road (Lake Road) remains closed with power poles still down, Use Sleepy Hollow Road in and out of Cultus Lake.
Ryder Lake Road and Elk View Road remains tricky with trees and power poles down.
Chilliwack/Cultus Lake: No School today for Rosedale Traditional, Unity Christian School, Cultus Lake Elementary, Timothy Christian, and East Chilliwack Elementary all due to power problems.
Ryder Lake & Upper Promontory Bus runs cancelled today. Rosedale Childcare Centre is closed.
Mission: Khalsa School is closed.
Agassiz: Stahalis Community School is closed.
Maple Ridge : Schools are open but no power for Westview, Laity View & Fairview. Staff is at schools but parents are asked to make other arrangements.
