The Power Of Martial Arts – POMA – Promoting Advocacy And Anti-Bullying Seminar Re-Scheduled For 2016

Abbotsford, BC  – UPDATE –  The Power of Martial Arts (http://powerofmartialarts.com/) will be rescheduled for a later date in spring 2016, likely in March. Thank you to all who supported the event that had been scheduled for November 7th and 8th, 2015. Seminar ticket holders will be refunded. Be sure to watch for the new date in the near future.

POMA is committed to bring awareness to the serious issue of bullying in Canada, and will continue hosting a seminar about advocacy. UFC pioneer – Hall of Famer, Royce Gracie, and Carol Todd, mother of the late Amanda Todd and president of the Amanda Todd Legacy Society, will still be our presenters in the spring. Once again the conversation is on the critical issue of bullying that has affected countless numbers of people. There will be seminars given by women who have developed personal strength through martial arts training.

ORIGINAL STORY – To bring awareness to the serious issue of bullying in Canada, The Power of Martial Arts is holding a seminar that aims to promote The all forms of Martial Arts Fitness and anti-bullying.

The Power of Martial Arts (http://powerofmartialarts.com/) will have UFC pioneer and Hall of Famer, Royce Gracie, and Carol Todd, mother of the late Amanda Todd, present on Saturday November 8, 2015 at the Tradex (https://www.fvtradex.com) in Abbotsford, B.C. on the critical issue of bullying that has affected countless of people.  Royce Gracie will also be speaking about “Bullying” in addition to “Women In Self Defence”, following with a Meet and Greet.

On Sunday, its Kid’s Day and Gracie will be teaching a seminar on self-defence and assertiveness. There will be the chance to actively participate in this seminar with Gracie himself. Children’s class will be on Sunday, November 9, 2015 from 10:00am to 11:00pm and then an Adult class from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. The classes will appeal to anyone between the age of 5 and 30, Martial Arts has no age boundaries, so bringing your own uniform is recommended!

 

Carol Todd, the woman behind the Amanda Todd Legacy Society, will be presenting at the seminar “Respect and Kindness” and their influence on the matter. To promote mental health and raise awareness for World Mental Health Day, Todd encourages everyone to wear purple “to light up cities across the province”. Anti-Bullying Day on February 25th promotes wearing pink t-shirts for the cause.

The layout of the event provides floor space for the Martial Arts Schools attending to demonstrate their individual arts. Families are encouraged to attend and due to limited spots, reservations are highly recommended. Food and drinks will be available throughout the event on both days.

BEST WESTERN PLUS Regency Inn & Conference Centre is 10 minutes from the Abbotsford Airport and would be suitable to stay while attending The Power of Martial Arts at the Fraser Valley Trade and Exhibition Center or the Tradex. The accommodation is environmentally conscious and has undergone notable exterior renovations. The Power of Martial Arts Conference rate is $99.00 for rooms with 2 queen beds.
