FVRD Air Quality Public Forum October 26

Abbotsford/Chilliwack— Have you ever wondered why the mountain views are sometimes hazy in the summer? Do you know what the major sources of air pollution are in the Fraser Valley? All of these issues, and more, will be discussed at an Air Quality Public Forum taking place at the University of the Fraser Valley – Abbotsford campus, next week.

Experts will be available from a number of organizations to answer your questions about air pollution, its sources and its impacts on health, crop productivity and the food you eat. Representatives from the University of the Fraser Valley, Fraser Valley Regional District, BC Ministry of Environment, BC Lung Association, Fraser Health, BC Centre for Disease Control, and University of British Columbia will be in attendance.

This is also an opportunity for the public to share their priorities when it comes to airshed management in the Fraser Valley Regional District, as the region works toward developing a new Air Quality and Climate Protection Plan.
