Canadian Cancer Society’s 2015 Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley September 24 – October 2

Abbotsford, BC – Canadian Cancer Society’s 2015 Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley:

WHEN:  Thursday, September 24, 9:15am.

WHERE: Abbotsford Senior Secondary (rotunda), 33355 Bevan Way.

WHAT: The Tour de Valley is a nine day bike tour from Tsawwassen to Boston Bar and back. This year, from September 24 to October 2, the Tour team of law enforcement personnel will ride over 850km throughout the Fraser Valley. They will be visiting many local schools and businesses to raise money and awareness for pediatric cancer research and support Camp Goodtimes, a program for children and families living with cancer. Their goal this year is to raise over $465,000.

ETC:  Riders will participate in ceremony and then be heading out from Abbotsford Senior onto the tour.

Schedule:

9:15am:

– MC/Acting Abby Senior Principal Adam Moore  welcome all to Abbotsford Senior Secondary School and the Cops for Cancer Tour de Valley Kick Off. 

–  Introduce VIPS

9:25am:

– Guest Speakers

–  Trustee Freddy Latham

– Acting Chief Constable Rich Drinovz, Delta Police Department

– Ian THOMAS, Vice President of Retail, Coast Capital Savings – TOUR SPONSOR

– Allan Mugford, Canadian Cancer Society Regional Director

9:45 am:

– two Headshaves: Principal Adam Moore & Kayden Shaver (student from Sandy Hill Elementary who has been inspired by Cops for Cancer visiting his school and to support a family member who has had cancer)

–  Cheque presentations

9:55 am:

– Dave Ogilvy, 2015 Tour Captain & Les Betker, 2016 Tour Captain, introduces team, bead ceremony .

10:10 am:

– Final thank you; riders interact with students, distribute rider cards and exit.
