Forum For Women Entrepreneurs Launches Hunt for Chilliwack Based Women Entrepreneurs

Vancouver – The Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FWE) announced the open enrollment for the annual E-Series educational program. Women from across Canada are being encouraged to apply to the comprehensive program, with a number of grants available to fund travel and accommodation.

Women entrepreneurs who attend E-Series have seen an average annualized revenue growth of over 40% in their business and 90% of all participating companies are still in business – well above the national average of 50% after 5 years.

In 2015, the program hosted women from 26 communities across five provinces, including Saskatoon, SK, Millertown, NL, Dawson Creek, BC, Calgary, AB, Timmins, ON, and many more. FWE’s goal for 2016 is to have representation from each province and territory.

For the third year in a row, grants are available to women entrepreneurs across Canada, providing a program tuition subsidy, travel and accommodation and ongoing support from a mentor for a year, thanks to the support of Teck, Canada’s largest diversified resource company.

Often referred to by participants as a “mini MBA” for emerging entrepreneurs, it has been attended by notable women such as Judy Brooks, Co-Founder of Blo Blow Dry Bar, Cybele Negris, Co-Founder and President of Webnames.ca, and Lara Kozan, Co-Founder of YYoga.

“E-Series changes businesses and the women who run them, fundamentally changing how they view their business, how it will grow, and what they need to do to achieve their goals. The education we provide is unique in Canada, and critical for entrepreneurs who are either in their early stage or already earning millions in revenue annually,” said Lisa Niemetscheck, General Manager of FWE.

“Teck is proud to help support talented and hard-working women entrepreneurs to develop their skills and grow their businesses,” said Marcia Smith, Senior Vice President, Sustainability and External Affairs, Teck. “Women entrepreneurs contribute significantly to our local and national economies and make a real difference in communities across Canada.”

The application deadline for E-Series is January 15, 2016 with the program to run April 6 to 8 at The Vancouver Club in downtown Vancouver.
