Fraser Valley/Burnaby (CP) – British Columbian’s won’t see any more slick commercials for the Trans Mountain pipeline expansion any time soon.
Kinder Morgan has decided to pull advertising for the controversial proposal until after the October 19 election.
The decision comes after a New Democrat seeking re-election in Burnaby South complained to the elections commissioner about half-page ads in local newspapers.
Kennedy Stewart says the ads promote a position on an election issue and therefore the company must register as a third-party advertiser subject to spending limits.
The existing Kinder Morgan pipeline and the proposed twinning, rolls through Hope to Chilliwack, Abbotsford and onto Burnaby.
