Chilliwack Prolific Offender Caught In Abbotsford

Chilliwack, BC –  One man is in jail facing multiple charges after being arrested by RCMP in Abbotsford at the end of last week.

On Thursday afternoon (June 25, 2015 -2:00 p.m.) police observed a male driving a green van travelling eastbound on George Ferguson Way in Abbotsford.

“The driver is well known to police and is prohibited from driving”, said Cpl. Brock Rayworth of the Chilliwack RCMP Crime Reduction Unit.

At the first safe opportunity officers from the Crime Reduction Unit, supported by the Integrated Municipal Provincial Auto Crime Team, took the alleged driver into custody. Break in tools and illegal drugs found inside the van were linked to the driver.

Shaun Darryl Bolko, 33, of Chilliwack remains in custody pending a court appearance in early July to face charges of Driving While Prohibited under the Motor Vehicle Act, and six counts of Breach of Probation.

Bolko will also face two previous charges of Driving While Prohibited when he attends court in July. Those charges stem from an incident on June 22, 2015 where it is alleged he was operating a car in the 45000 block of Yale Road in Chilliwack.

“Mr. Bolko has repeated contact with police in the Chilliwack region and is registered in our Prolific Offender Program”, said Cpl. Mike Rail. “Prolific offenders receive in-depth attention from Chilliwack RCMP, and any emerging issues or updates on these offenders are discussed monthly by management.”
