3 Abbotsford Teens OD On Date Rape Drug

Abbotsford, BC – On Sunday evening (June 21, 2015 at 6:45 pm), the Abbotsford Police Department was called to assist BC Ambulance Service at Mill Lake Park. A caller reported that three friends were having a bad reaction to GHB (Gamma Hydroxybutyrate) and were vomiting and convulsing.

APD officers and BC Ambulance arrived and found a 19-year-old male and 15-year-old female unresponsive, and a 17-year-old female to be semi-conscious. All three were transported to hospital in serious condition. All are expected to survive but the extent of the damage that the drugs caused is unknown at this point.

APD also want to remind people of the inherent dangers of using street drugs. GHB and other street drugs have unknown ingredients, additives and cutting agents in them and therefore they can have unknown effects on your body. These effects can include serious injury or death.
