Harrison Hot Springs Finally Agrees To Pay Parking

Harrison Hot Springs, BC  (Star FM) – First it was a real stop light and now, parking meters. Sorry Harrison, but we had to take a shot there…

In an effort to reduce the taxpayer burden for beach maintenance, Harrison Hot Springs will begin charging for parking on certain streets near the beach starting next spring (2016).

According to a staff report, more and more visitors are coming for day trips as opposed to staying over night in hotels or campgrounds.

That’s driving up costs for things like garbage pickup and washroom cleaning, and staff say it’s costing the Village $180, 000 per year.

There will still be options for free parking on streets further away from the beach, so break out the walking sandals.
