Chilliwack/Toronto -“..and another one bites the dust….” – Queen. Another piece of the long time economic landscape will disappear.
Telus is closing down all Black’s Photography stores in Canada, according to several reports.
The company will shut down the country’s 59 stores by August 8, affecting some 500 employees, the Globe and Mail reports.
Business News Network also confirmed the closure.
Black’s used to have an outlet in Chilliwack’s Cottonwood Mall.
Telus bought the chain in 2009 and started carrying mobile phones along with cameras in an attempt to adapt to changes in the photography industry. As photography goes digital, fewer customers are coming in to get prints processed or to buy film.
